Our Experience providing Facility Management Assistance

  • Developed a new organization and operations strategy for the Facilities department of Cowichan Valley School District 79;
  • Developed new position descriptions for facilities management positions at Kwantlen Polytechnic University;
  • Developed for the Conseil Scolaire Francophone (CSF) (Francophone Education Authority, SD 93) a Request for Proposals for their tender call for maintenance and operations services at a new school soon to open, and followed up with developing the service contract between the CSF and the successful proponent for these services;
  • Carried out a review of Facilities Services delivery within Langley School District 35.  The study examined school building and grounds maintenance standards, work order management, preventive maintenance programs, facilities organization and staffing, and service effectiveness;
  • Completed a review of Facilities Services delivery and staffing needs in Mission School District 75;
  • Carried out a review of Information Technology (IT) Services delivery within Coast Mountain School District 82. The study examined the IT organization, responsiveness, technology, work order management, and resources, and made recommendations for various changes to improve the services provided to the school district;
  • Carried out a review of Information Technology (IT) Services delivery within Nisga’a School District 92.  The study examined the IT organization, responsiveness, technology, work order management, and resources, and made recommendations for various changes to improve the services provided to the school district;
  • Carried out in 2010 a review of Maintenance, Custodial, and Transportation services in Nisga’a School District 92 to determine the effectiveness of the current organization, staffing, procedures, and schedules;
  • In 2011-12, assisted Science World with facilities management planning related to their facility expansion and renovation;
  • In late 2011 and early 2012, carried out an analysis and review of Custodial Services in Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District 68 including comparison of staffing levels to six other comparable districts;
  •  In 2012-13, carried out an analysis and review of the Occupational Health & Safety Department of Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District 68 including workload functions, location and workspace, and comparison of staffing levels to six other comparable districts;
  • In 2013, carried out analysis and review of the Custodial Services Department in Langley School District 35 including workload, quality of service, and staffing levels;
  • In 2013, carried out a review of facilities management operations and asset management at Broadmead Care Society which operates three extended care residences in southern Vancouver Island;
  • In 2014, assisted Terminal Systems Inc (TSI) with their facilities management practices in their role as facilities managers for Vancouver ports (VanTerm and Deltaport).
  • In 2014, developed the master Preventive Maintenance Plan for all 40 city facilities at the City of Fernie, BC;
  • In 2015, developed a facilities management plan, including management, maintenance, and operations, for a new Community Centre for the Snuneymuxw First Nations in Nanaimo.
  • In 2016, developed updated school Design Aid Sheets to better define school student capacities for several school districts;
  • In 2017, assisted several school districts with documentation in support of their Capital Plan Submissions to the provincial government
  • In 2018, assisted Global Container Terminals (GCT) with their facilities management practices as facilities managers for Vancouver ports (VanTerm and Deltaport).
  • In 2019, assisted Alberta Liquor Gaming & Cannabis Commission Properties Department with a review of its facilities management practices and organization.
  • In 2021, reviewed services provided and recommended organizational changes in the Facilities Services Department of University of the Fraser Valley.
