Cascade has been commissioned by several agencies of the provincial government to carry out Due Diligence Reviews and Independent Reviews of public sector proposed projects. The purpose has been to provide an independent analysis of the project background, scope, cost, alternatives, and recommendations.
In addition, one of the first steps in developing a capital project is the Project Feasibility Study or the Project Request Fact Sheet (PRFS). This is a major document that:
- analyzes the need for the project;
- determines options to satisfy the space needs;
- evaluates the options against criteria such as impact on operations, life cycle cost, risk, and effectiveness;
- recommends the best option; and
- provides cost estimates and sketch plans to achieve the recommended solution.
